TARAS STEPHEN BOYANISKY On April 16, 2000, surrounded by his loving family, Taras Stephen Boyanisky passed away at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his father Joseph (1944) mother Mary (1974) brothers, Zenon (1980) and Myros (1981) and sister Nadia from California, who joined him in heaven on the same day. He will be lovingly remembered by his dear wife of 60 years, Celia; children, Nadia, Bill (Marlene), Doreen (Ron), Kathy (Jim) grandchildren, Miles (Janet), Karen (Tony), Tracy (Tony), Tanya (Dave), Tara (Cory), David, Daniel, Stephen, Hayley and Alex; great-grandchildren: Max, Brady and Shayna. Taras was born in Winnipeg, November 3, 1914. His teaching career spanned 40 years from Pine River to Winnipeg, retiring as a principal at Argyle School in 1975. He spent four years with the RCAF in the Second World War. His loved ones always came first and he shared many happy occasions with his wife Celia at family gatherings. Taras loved gardening and reading with music a constant presence in his life. He sang tenor in the Church Choir, Male Choir, Koshetz Choir and Rekrut Choir. We will all cherish our memories and live by Taras words of wisdom to always take time to stop and smell the roses. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m., also at the Chapel, with Very Rev. Fr. H. Lakusta officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Thanks to all our family and friends for their kindness, the staff at Victoria Hospital for their TLC and to Dr. Y.K. Cho for many years of care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Taras memory to a charity of choice. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
