CATHERINE "KITTY" BRASIER Cradled in the arms of her loving family in the evening of April 26, 2000, our precious Mum and Nana passed away at the age of 91 years. Born October 26, 1908, in Burnhope Co. Durham, England, Kitt married Jack in 1932, made their home and raised their six children in England until 1956 when they all immigrated to Canada. She was predeceased in 1975 by her loving husband. Along with her special sister Em, her goddaughter Diane and friends and family overseas, she leaves cherishing her memory, her children, Beryl (Art) Barker, Joan Edwards, Gerry (Betty) Brasier, John (Mary) Brasier, Ann Brasier, Margaret (Doug) Brereton. Her grandchildren, Catherine and Joanne Edwards, Scott (Roni) Brasier, Judy (Bob) Murday, Linda (Jayme) Previtt, Pam Brasier, David Barker, Jill Brasier, Paula (Rob) Wood, Derek Brasier, Jessica Puccio, Lindsey, Christine and Shannon Brereton. Her great-grandchildren, Brijana, Matthew, Andi, Dani, Grant, Bradley, Matt, Carrie, Jonathan and Caitlyn. Mum was an avid reader and enjoyed a wide variety of music both old and new. The art of letter writing was generously shared with her friends and family who came to treasure her notes and letters. Each of us will be kept cozy by the love she worked into her afghans, sweaters and kitten bonnets. No special occasion was complete without her sausage rolls and scones. And what would Christmas be without her Christmas pudding? She was a woman of substance, a lady of class whose warm and gentle spirit touched everyone she met. She had a lively sense of humour that shone through to the end - forever young at 91. Our treasured, gentle mother will be forever in our hearts. Good night, God Bless. Arohanui. There will be a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with the Rev. R. L. Brownlie officiating. There will be a private family interment in Garry Memorial Park. Our sincere thanks go the medical and nursing staff on Unit 4 of the Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate, gentle care of our Mum (Nana) and their kind support of our family. Our thanks are extended to the Geriatric Rehab Unit. Also, special thanks is extended to Heidi and Kathryn for their loving home care. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Geriatric Rehab Unit at the Victoria General Hospital. Because of you our own small world Will never be the same, and all our hearts are filled with love When people speak your name. But though your face may not be seen Among us here today, Your heart is felt in all the hearts You changed along the way. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
