Predeceased by her daughter Karen and her parents, Olive and Ernie McIntyre, she leaves to cherish her memory and strength, her husband of 50 years, Bill; daughters, Diane (Ches) Smolinski and Sharon (Ed) Tardi; her two sons, Murray and Christopher (Valerie) 11 grandchildren, Marie, Jana, Torin, Cary, Hayley, Danica, Monica, Ryan, Christian, Tyler, Kylcy and three great-grandchildren, Riley, Teal and Caemlyn; two sisters, Shirley Whitby and Marion (Don) Pollock, both from Regina; one brother Robert (Gladys) McIntyre of Edmonton, several nieces and nephews and their families, closely cared for children, John and Nancy Morrison and all her many friends. Margaret was born in Melville, Sask. She spent her youth between Melville and Yorkton. Upon high school graduation Margaret attended Nursing School at the Regina General Hospital graduating as a registered nurse. Margaret had a much travelled, lengthy and dedicated career in nursing. With her husband Bill a Corporal with the R.C.M.P., this allowed Margaret to spread her care in different towns and cities across Western Canada. In her final years of nursing she was the head nurse of the Grace Hospital Emergency Department. She spent the last ten years of her professional life with Air Canada, a company she was proud to work for. Margaret was team leader, liked and respected by all her peers. She was by far ahead of her time; she successfully balanced her family, career, volunteer work and social life. Of her many interests which included a love for all sports, Margaret especially enjoyed her association with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. As a devoted supporter Margaret held many varied positions within the organization. She truly valued her everlasting friendships that came from being so involved with The Sorority Sisters in Winnipeg. The family appreciates all of Margarets sisters from around the world and in Winnipeg who have not forgotten her throughout her illness. "Only the Good, Only the True, Only the Beautiful." Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. She carried and maintained her old fashioned beliefs all her life, and she consistently displayed her strong morals and values. She believed in family and friends, her children and grandchildren were very important to her and brought much joy to her life. The family would like to extend our appreciation to the doctors, the many dedicated caregivers and the entire staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for the heartfelt care they have given to Margaret over the past ten years. We would also like to thank them for taking such good care of Margarets husband Bill, and for the respect and friendship they extended to him. Their understanding of the needs of the family during this life event deeply touched the emotions of all of us. Mom had the best care possible and we are so grateful she was in trusting hands and caring hearts. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to be announced at a later date, as all family members arrive in Winnipeg. Flowers are gracefully declined, however remembrances of Mom may be sent to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Man., R3C 4G2.
