NELLIE BORYS Suddenly on Saturday, August 26, 2000 after a brief illness, Nellie passed away with her loving family by her side. Nellie will be sadly missed by her only son Merv and daughter-in-law Sandy; granddaughter Tanys (Darren) Van Wynsberghe and grandson Ryan; brothers John (Sophie), Nick (Ann), William (Mary) and sister-in-law Sophie Borys; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Stephan and Catherine; sisters, Ann and Mary (Mike) Dubiel and brother Peter. Nellie was born July 27, 1923 in Yorkton, SK. She moved to Winnipeg in 1963 where she was employed with Salisbury House until her retirement in 1988. One of moms greatest joys was getting together with family and friends. Her kind nature and warm sense of humour have been an inspiration to all who knew her. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 31 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St. Pallbearers will be Darren Van Wynsberghe, Blair Taylor, Clarence and Romaine Borys, Raymond and Alvin Dubiel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nellies memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9 or Shriners Patient Transportation Fund, 1155 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 1B9.
