Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT LESLIE BRADEN Peacefully, on November 30, 2000, Robert Leslie Braden passed away at the Grace Hospital with his family at his side. Bob was born on March 11, 1918 in Poplar Point, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his father Leslie Braden; mother Sarah Garton; stepfather Ed Garton; sister Vera Barbour and brother Cliff Braden. Bob will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Dahlia (Dale) daughters, Sheryl and her husband Serle Fowler and Loraine Braden and her husband Clay Latimer and granddaughter Monica Braden and her fiance Nat Stark. Also surviving are brother Bill and Phyllis Braden; sister Lyalla and Don McNeil and many nieces and nephews. Bob did carpentry work before joining the Royal Canadian Army in 1941. He and Dale were married on October 25, 1941. He was in the Royal Canadian Artillery, then transferred to the Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He spent some time in Hamilton and Kingston before going overseas from 1942 to 1945 (England, Holland, Belgium and Germany). After he was discharged in 1946 he worked at Deer Lodge Hospital for 30 years as a maintenance carpenter and then supervisor for the last 10 years. He retired in 1978 and enjoyed life with family and friends. Bob enjoyed spending time at the cottage at Lee River. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team at the Grace Hospital and Dr. Kotecha for their care and compassion. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 5 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
