Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARRY LEONARD BOOTHE Barry died suddenly at home on December 31, 2000. He was predeceased by his father Albert Boothe. He is survived by his wife Faith Johnston; mother Irene; children, Vincent, Daphne and Jason; daughter-in-law Melina Elliott; sister Diane Toffen; nephews, Christopher and Andrew and step-children, Beth and Alan Kerstetter. Barry was devoted to his family and his students. He was born in Winnipeg, attended Churchill High School and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.Sc., B. Ed. and Masters in Education. He taught mathematics at Fort Richmond Collegiate for many years. At the time of his death he was teaching at St. Marys Academy. Barry loved the challenges of math and was committed to communicating his own enthusiasm to his students. Barry had a tremendous zest for life. In his youth he back-packed around the world. He loved golfing, canoeing and travelling, but he particularly enjoyed being a parent. He was a kind and patient father and a loyal friend. How we will miss his energy, his optimism and his irrepressible sense of humour. There will be a service of remembrance at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 6 in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amnesty International, 214 Montreal Road, 4th Floor, Vanier, ON K1L 1A4, to Development & Peace Canadian Catholic Organization, 227-210 Masson Street, Winnipeg, MB R2H 0H3 or to a charity of choice.
