Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRANDOLPH (RANDY) LINWOOD BOTT Peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2001 at the Betel Home in Selkirk, MB, Randy Bott of Selkirk and formerly of Langruth, MB, widower of the late Sarah, passed away at the age of 88 years. A family graveside service will be held at the Langruth Cemetery, Langruth, on Thursday morning, February 8, for interment of the cremated remains, with the Rev. Phyllis Thordarson officiating. Randy was born on June 1, 1912 in the District of North Lakeland, son of the late Stuart and Isabelle Bott. In 1941 Randy married Sarah Johanson. They farmed in the Hollywood and Langruth Districts for many years. Randy was an extremely hard working man who took great pride in his farm. In addition to grain farming and raising livestock, Randy also commercial fished for a number of years. He cleared his first piece of land by hand, and so loved his work that he continued to farm until after his 70th birthday. Randy resided in the Langruth area all his life until moving to Selkirk three years ago. Due to poor health, he has resided at the Betel Home in Selkirk for the past year. Predeceased by his wife Sarah in 1994; her parents; his brothers and sisters, Maude Arksey, Dorothy Forsley, Geoffrey Bott, Irene McConaghie, Joe Bott, Ralph Bott, Ivy Thompson, Francis Bott, and Mary Street, he leaves to mourn his passing his five children, Louise (Al) Thompson, Brian (Lois) Bott, Phyllis (Kelly) Johnson, Joyce (Don) Carson, and Allan Bott; 12 grandchildren, Brent, Lyle and Sandra Thompson, Corinne Bobrowich, Jason Kennedy, Wendy Coppock, Dean Johnson, Maxine Lind, Nicole Johnson, Scott, Grant and Alana Carson; plus ten great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his passing three sisters, Edna Evans, Alice Thordarson, Lucy Senton; and one brother Art Bott. Heartfelt thanks to the excellent staff at the Betel Home in Selkirk for the kindness shown to Randy and our family. As an expression of sympathy, anyone wishing to honour Randys memory may do so by making a donation to the Betel Home Foundation, 212 Manchester Ave., Selkirk, MB, R1A 0E2; or the Langruth Cemetery Fund, in care of Mrs. Marie Leclerc, Box 173, Langruth, MB R0H 0N0.
