RACHEL BONNE October 8, 1906 - April 18, 2001 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful death of Rachel Bonne on Wednesday, April 18, 2001. She was surrounded by her family when she passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her mother Emerence; husband Leon; son Charlie; grandson Richard; daughter in-law Shirley and close relatives and many friends, who she spoke of often and missed very much. She is survived by her sons, Emerick, Dick (Betty), George, Gordon and daughter Alice (Willie) De Ruddere; daughter-in-law Nellie Bonne from Burnaby; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. For all of you that knew "Granny" she was a wealth of information and had an incredible memory like no other. She looked forward to her family visiting her every week, whether it was to reminisce about the past, discuss current events or to have a laugh or two. We will all miss this very much. The family would like to thank Father Morand, Dr. Hildahl, Dr. Jason and VON nurse Judith and Homecare for their visits to her home, allowing her to remain at home till the end. We would also like to thank all the family members, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for being by her bedside in the hospital, as this meant a lot to her. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 23, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Vital Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway, with viewing and prayers a half hour prior to service, with Rev. Dr. Patrick A. Morand Presiding. Interment will follow in the Fort Garry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rachels memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 2H8, or to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 2E8.
