IRMA BOHN It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, Irma Bohn, on August 5, 2001 at East View Lodge. With her family by her side she left us to be with her Lord. Irma, the fourth daughter of Wilhelm and Wanda Lange, is lovingly remembered by son Wayne (Della) of Waldersee, MB and daughter Valarie (Brian) Thomson of Plumas, MB; grandchildren, Sandi of Winnipeg and Gregory of Plumas; sister Gertrude Barke of Thornhill, MB; brother-in-law George (Alice) Bohn of Plumas; sister-in-law Ruth Bohn of Glenella, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1998; her parents; and sisters, Gunda, Della and Lanea. Irmgard Amanda was born in Wiesenthal, Poland on July 8, 1923. She attended school in Bendorf and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1945, she, along with her parents and sister Gertrude were forced from their home with only what belongings they could carry. They travelled to Germany and lived there for three years while they awaited immigration to Canada. They arrived in Canada in January of 1948 settling across the road from sister Della and family. Irma found work as a housekeeper. She met Fred shortly thereafter and they were married on October 23, 1948 at Christ Lutheran in Waldersee. Together they worked very hard on the farm until 1983, when they retired and moved to Plumas. It was while living in Plumas that she met friends who remained very dear to her until the end. In February of 1999, Irma moved to East View Lodge in Neepawa, MB. Irma loved to bake and cook. When one came to visit, she would never let you leave without first having a meal with her and Fred, or at least a cup of coffee and something to eat. She was a member at Christ Lutheran Waldersee and enjoyed helping at the church. In her pastime she crocheted and knitted. She enjoyed bowling and being a member of the Senior Citizens Clubs in Glenella and Plumas. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. Irma was always a happy person and had a friendly smile for everyone. She appreciated everything that anyone ever did for her. No matter what the hardship, she always made the best of every situation and never complained. Irma was very blessed to have such a strong faith and was very thankful for the life that God had given her. We remember her as a caring mother and grandmother, a loving friend, and we so adored her faith and courage when facing death. We give thanks for such a wonderful mom. Our deepest gratitude to all her Home Care Workers and to the staff at East View, particularly 4 South, for your exceptional care and to Eileen Henton for all those special visits. Your care, concern and support will always be remembered. The family would also like to thank everyone who took the time from their busy lives to visit with mom while a resident at East View Lodge. These visits meant so much to her and to us. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Waldersee with Pastor Norris Nordin officiating. Interment will follow at Waldersee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church "Organ Fund", Waldersee, MB, R0J 1P0 or Family Resident Council of East View Lodge, Box 2381, Neepawa, MB, R0J 1H0. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
