BERT BORYS Bert Borys passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital on Monday, September 24, 2001 at the age of 80 years. Bert is survived by his loving wife Anne of 43 years, his two daughters, Terry Schmid (Brian), and Maureen Matteis (Peter) his beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Kendra and Jonathon; brother Alex; sisters, Kay and Jessie Kozier; and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Bert was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary, brother Tony (1972), sister Alice (1977). Bert worked for Air Canada for over 40 years. Following his retirement in 1986 Bert took up his pleasurable second career of watching over and truly enjoying his grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church for almost 70 years. The family wish to thank the doctors and nurses and support staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and attention, especially 5th floor Unit #3. Prayers will take place on Wednesday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 40 Ada St. Funeral mass will take place on Thursday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.
