ALICE GERTRUDE BORTOLUZZI Peacefully at home, in her daughters loving arms, on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25, 2001, Alice died at the age of 81 years. She was born on July 30, 1920 in Lampman, SK. Alice graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital as an R.N. in the early 1940s. Throughout her career she worked in two rural Saskatchewan hospitals as well as northern Ontario before serving as a nurse in the Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. While raising her family, Alice did volunteer work and was extremely active with the Girl Guides and St. Alphonsus Church. Until her retirement in 1984, she was employed with Kelvin Electric. Alice was predeceased by her husband Fred who died on Sunday, May 7, 2000. Leaving to forever cherish her memory are her children, Don (Helen), Fred Jr. (Diane), Beverly and George (Hanna) six grandchildren, Ryan, Krista, Tara, Melissa, Janel and Tessa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the parish of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood Dr., Winnipeg, with Rev. Fr. Raymond Baudry presiding. Interment will follow in the St. Andrews On The Red Cemetery, St. Andrews, MB. Our family would like to thank all those who supported and visited Mom over the years following her stroke. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Alices memory to St. Andrews On The Red Cemetery, in care of Randy Pastetnik, 5402 - #9 Hwy., St. Andrews, MB, R1A 2A8.
