Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWIN "TED" BRADLEY Edwin "Ted" Bradley passed away peacefully in his 91st year on Monday, June 10, 2002, with his family by his side He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Alex and Colin; and sister Edith Pettigrew. Ted is survived by his wife Marjorie, with whom he celebrated his 59th anniversary in April. He will also be sadly missed by his daughter Barbara Mackey and son-in-law Don of Winnipeg; his son Bob and wife Risa of New York City; his granddaughter Janet Babineau and husband Ed; grandson Stephen Mackey; and great-grandsons, Richard, Robert and Andrew Babineau, all of Winnipeg. Ted was born in Winnipeg on September 20, 1911, the third son of Eliza and Alfred Bradley. His early years were spent in the north end, attending Polson School where his father was caretaker. During the Depression, the family moved to Estevan, SK, where Ted, his dad and his brothers operated a painting and decorating business and did farm labour to supplement the family income. Ted joined the Royal Canadian Air Force shortly after the start of the Second World War and served in Canada during its duration. At the end of the war, he returned to Winnipeg, setting down roots in St. James. He was employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway for more than 30 years, working in the Weston Shops as carman, until his retirement in 1976. Ted enjoyed many activities with his family, such as travelling to British Columbia to visit relatives, either by train or later, by driving and camping with a trailer. He also enjoyed many years of camping at Idle Wheels Trailer Park in Husavik (near Gimli), as well as playing golf in the summer and curling at the Deer Lodge Seniors Curling Club in the winters. He and Marge were also well known for their volunteer work with various senior groups in St. James and at the senior dances that were held at the St. James Civic Centre. A service of remembrance, celebrating Ted Bradleys life, will be held on Saturday, June 15, at 2:00 p.m., in the St. James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate. Thanks to all staff on 3 West at Grace General Hospital for their care and compassion.
