KATHERINE (KATIE) SCHULTZ Peacefully, on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, Katie passed away at her family farm in Cromwell, MB at the age of 65 years. She leaves to mourn her siblings, Clara Matchizen, Rose Gmitroski (John), Adeline Marynewich, Joan Modjeski, Steffie Gosselin, John Schultz (Celine), Joe Schultz (Sally), Pat Rattai (Richard), and Richard Schultz (Carol). She will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as many friends and extended family. Katie was predeceased by her parents, William and Josephine Schultz; and her brothers-in-law, John Modjeski, Joe Marynewich, and Ben Matchizen. Katie was born on the farm in Cromwell on November 13, 1936. Once Katie left home she moved to Winnipeg, and resided there until her death. She worked at LGM Graphics in Winnipeg for 42 years until her retirement in the fall of 2001. She loved nothing more than to spend her summer holidays at the family farm in Cromwell, near Beausejour. For as long as anyone can remember, Katie and her sister Steffie would come out to spend their holidays visiting family at "home". There was always lots of laughter and good times spent together. She was especially fond of all her nephews and nieces, and treated them as her own children. She will be remembered for the love she showed to all and her kind and generous spirit. It was fitting that Katie passed on at the place she loved so much, the same yard in which she was born. Prayers will be said in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Ave., Beausejour, MB on Sunday, July 7 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of The Resurrection will be celebrated in the church, on Monday, July 8 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Cremation will follow, with interment in the Ladywood Cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers will be Messrs. Ken Matchizen, Connie Marynewich, Robert Modjeski, Ken Schultz, Kevin Rattai, and Greg Schultz. " Til we meet again, dear sister and aunt, We love you and well miss you."
