ROBERT MOUFLIER It is with profound sorrow, the family announces the untimely passing of Robert, on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at SICU - HSC following a lengthy illness, at the age of 57, he was born on September 2, 1944. Sister-in-law Linda Mouflier, nieces, Michelle, Diana and Angela. Also surviving is Bobs mother-in-law and friend Mary Eisner, aunts and uncles, one great-niece and nephew. He was predeceased by his father Leonard in 1976, mother Jeanne in 1987 and his brother Jacques in 1985. Always possessing a strong work ethic, he spent many summers at Findlay Surveys. Bob began his career in the hospitality industry along side his father Leo at the Cambridge Hotel. During this period Bob managed many hotels in Manitoba, later joining Labatts Brewery Manitoba from which he retired due to ill health in 1985. As a youth, he played football with the St. Vital Mustangs, St. James Rods and Norwood Broncs. He participated in many sports including baseball, hockey and basketball. Bob found the greatest joy in the simpler things in life. Some of his favourites were the memorable high school days at W.P.C., Minnesota Vikings, Montreal Canadians and Expos, cattle calving and chores, his children, grandchildren, 990s Finkelmans 45s, cottage bakery meat pies (he was quite a chef himself!) and electric fence designs. He had a retentive memory, often quoting from Shakespeare and Dickens, loved all history, and was a great cinema and trivia buff and won every trivia game he played. Bobs inner strength and love for life and family saw him through numerous health crises and obstacles. His cheerful attitude towards each new challenge was seen by all who met, knew and loved Bob. A celebration of Bobs life will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Ltd. Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St., with Fr. Joseph Johnson S.J. officiating.
