Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTIMOTHY DRAKE BORGER 1972 - 2002 Tim succumbed after a too brief and relentless illness on July 23, 2002. Tim is predeceased by his grandparents, Henry and Barbara Borger, and Percy and Marjorie Downton. Tim is sadly missed by his parents, Henry and Jill Borger; his brother Henry Jr.; his sister Kristin; his sister-in-law Anita; his nieces, Emma and Lillian, and his extended family and many friends. Tim was born on August 16, 1972 in Winnipeg where he resided all of his life. He was a baptized, confirmed and communicative member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Tim attended St. Johns Ravenscourt School from grades 1 to 12 and earned "lifer" status upon his graduation. He then enrolled in Psychology at the University of Manitoba from where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. A passion for computers inspired Tim to study Information Technology at Red River Community College where he obtained his Computer Analyst/Programmer Diploma. Tim continued to challenge himself and refine his skills by taking advanced computer networking courses at RRCC until the diagnosis of his illness. Tim had a love of children that extended beyond his nieces to his friends children, particularly Kryn, Sadie, Mia and Sam. He also displayed affection for animals, none more so than his Jack Russell terrier, Obi. Tim will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing and passing summer days at the family cabin in the Lake of the Woods. Tims humour and sometimes rough exterior concealed a gentle soul that shared kindness and warmth with the people closest to him. Funeral proceedings will occur at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 59 Academy Road, on Monday, July 29 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor James Scholz will officiate. Pallbearers include David Borger, Mark Borger, Matthew Graham, Hartley Lowenthal, Rob Niesler, and Mark Reisdorf. Tims family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Tims family is grateful to Sharon Paulse (Reisdorf) for the care and affection that she extended to Tim and his siblings over many years. Tims family thanks the medical staff of the St. Boniface General Hospital and the Methodist General Hospital of Rochester Minnesota, in addition to his friends who provided comfort and support for Tim over the course of his illness.
