Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIAN MICHNEWYCH Passed away peacefully at Holy Family Nursing Home on Monday, July 29, 2002 with his wife Julia at his side. Left to mourn his passing is his beloved wife Julia and numerous relatives in Ukraine. Marian was born on October 2, 1904 in the Carpathian Region of Ukraine. In 1924 he completed his studies in Education in Sambir and worked as a teacher in areas close to his birthplace. The Second World War interrupted his peaceful life during which time he tragically lost both parents. During the Second World War upheaval, Marian was associated with UPA. After the war he lived in the D.P. camp in Ulm, Germany where he continued his teaching career. In the late 40s, Rev. Mitrat S. Izyk sponsored Marians arrival to Winnipeg where he worked at Progress Printing for 30 years. In 1951 Marian met and later married Julia Iwanchuk with whom he spent over 50 happy years. Panachyda will be sung 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, also at the cathedral, with Rev. M. Kouts and Rev. N. Yakiwchuk officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be T. Humeniuk, W. Kucharsky, I. Karpa, D. Bosak, I. Gawrachynsky, A. Borys.
