STANLEY NICHOLAS BOYAR We are saddened to announce that after a brief illness, Stan passed away on February 10, 2003, surrounded by those who loved and honoured him. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 55 years Anne; and his children, Ron (Connie), Bob (Cielo) and Marilyn (Doug) his grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca, Stewart and Jeremy and great-grandson Zachary; his brother Peter (Val) and their sons, Gordon and Christopher. Stan was born near Lang, SK on March 14, 1925. He and his brother Peter were orphaned and separated at a young age and were eventually reunited in Winnipeg. Because of the hardship of their early lives, the bond between the two brothers was strong. Because he was the elder, Stan assumed the role of family patriarch. Stan and Peter and their families enjoyed many joyful vacations at Sioux Narrows and eventually even Stans grandchildren looked forward to the pleasure those family times were to offer. We will all treasure the memories of those happy times together. In his early years of employment, Stan was employed by Brown and Rutherford Lumber. He had many stories to tell about driving the winter roads. Later, he worked for Winnipeg Transit, where he was a faithful employee, retiring after 38 years of service. Stan was a self-taught man of many abilities. One of his proudest achievements was the planning and construction of the home he built for Anne and their three children, which he built between working split shifts for Winnipeg Transit. He lived there with Anne until he was admitted to hospital where he spent his final days. Stan was a devoted husband and father. He could always be depended on by his family for guidance and help and we relied on him often. To the end, in spite of his own failing health, he was determined to independently care for Anne. It was only when his work was done that he could allow himself to take his rest. Stan spent his last days in Seven Oaks Hospital in the ICU where the attention and the compassion of the staff were greatly appreciated. The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude toward the ICU staff for their kindness and understanding. A service in Stans honour will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Sat-urday, February 15 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stans memory to Seven Oaks Hospital. We will always treasure your perseverance in the face of all hardships and your devotion to us. We will treasure your memory forever. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
