LEO F.A. MANNIX Leo F.A. Mannix, beloved husband of Wanda Mannix passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on 22nd April, 2003 at the age of 63 years. Born in Leeds, England in 1939, Leo was a creative free spirit who also possessed a great deal of business acumen. A cinematographer by profession, he shot, produced, and directed many television commercials, video presentations and special events. His ability to formulate concepts on the spur of the moment was a huge bonus to his many clients. He was of the select few who successfully made the transition from shooting on 16mm film to video and at the time of his untimely demise, he was deeply involved in digital video production. Whether he was shooting a simple media announcement or a society wedding, he brought his own style, vision and considerable artistic ability to the project. He was equally at home meeting with clients in a corporate boardroom or shooting video in a noisy factory. Leo was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Over the years, Leo formed many lasting friendships. He was an artist, an entrepreneur, and an ideal person who had a degree of humility and sensitivity that was not in the least jaded by his years of experience and knowledge. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by family, friends, relatives, business associates and those who were fortunate enough to have used his services or simply to have known him. He is survived by his wife, soulmate and business partner Wanda; daughter Carolyn and her husband Charles Macs and their children, Jonathon, Justin, Ashley and Natasha; son Carl; brother Damien M. and sister-in-law Mollie and nephew Waine and his wife Jane. He is also survived by his mother Blanche E. Mannix. Leo was predeceased by his father Louis J. Mannix. The family extends special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Concordia Hospital and at the Health Sciences Centre. A special thanks to Dr. C. Loepp. Funeral services will be held at the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. on Tuesday, 29th April, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Sam Argenziano officiating. Interment will take place in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. following the service.
