M. E. RAEBURN BONNER M. E. Raeburn Bonner, of West Vancouver, passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on April 30, 2003. Beloved wife of Franklin Edward Bonner (Ted), formerly of Winnipeg, MB and most loving mother of Ross Edward Bonner, beloved daughter-in-law Melanie and grandson Christopher of Kelowna, BC. Rae, as she was affectionately known, was born 1916 in Nottingham, England, daughter of Eric and Hazel Browne-Wilkinson. Her brother Donald of Regina predeceased her in 1988 and her aunt Aileen Betts of Cartwright, MB. She leaves one dear aunt, Marguerite Roberts of St. Boniface, MB and several cousins. Rae graduated with a B.A. degree from St. Johns College, University of Manitoba in 1937 and was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Rae and Ted were married in 1949 at All Saints Anglican Church and lived on Balfour Avenue in Winnipeg. She was a devoted member of Riverview United Church. In the fall of 1985 they moved to West Vancouver, BC where they spent many happy years. They were active members of West Vancouver United Church and Rae was presented with a Life Membership pin into the U.C.W. in 1995. As a hobby Rae enjoyed painting and she had belonged to the Riverview Art Club. Cremation has taken place with burial in Capilano View Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at West Vancouver United Church, 2065 Esquimalt Ave. on Tuesday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Gouws officiating. Our sincere thanks to Dr. C. D. Hayward and the nursing staff at Lions Gate Hospital who gave such wonderful and loving care to our dearest wife and mother. Flowers gratefully declined.
