STANLEY (STASH) BORECKI On Thursday, July 31, 2003, Stan passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 80. Stan was born and raised in the North End of Winnipeg, where he resided his entire life. He joined the Canadian Army at the age of 18 and served overseas during the Second World War. He was honorably discharged in February 1946. Stan was self-employed his entire life peddling door to door, selling lawn dressing, fruits and vegetables and fish. He continued this until he was 72 years of age and recanted many stories of his experiences. Stan leaves to mourn his passing his nephews, John (Shirley) Hrechkosy, Henry (Carole) Hrechkosy and nieces, Julianna Carter and Janet (John) Kalyta. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Winnie, sister Jessie and infant brother Henry. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
