JOHN WATT BOWMAN Peacefully on August 1, 2003, John Bowman passed away at Donwood Manor. John Bowman was predeceased by his wife, Helen. He is survived by his brother, Arthur (Bess) nephew, Glen; niece, Lanette and her children, Heather (Tony) and Robbie; stepchildren, Sheila (Dave) Coulthard and their children, Fiona (Dwayne) and great-grandchildren, Brianna and Eric, Tony, Allan and Moira; Ken (Rachel) McDonald and their children, Ryan, Kevin and Shawna; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. John was employed at the Canadian National Railway as a Switch Foreman. He served as telegrapher in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. John was an avid golfer, and also played the violin in several different orchestras. He and Helen started a band "Scotch Measure" which played for RSCDS and also at Folklorama. Thank you to the staff at Donwood Manor for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow.
