Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTAN BOROWSKI With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Stan Borowski on August 24, 2003 at Selkirk General Hospital. Stan will be fondly remembered by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Borowski; his daughter, Cheryle Nickolas, and her husband, Colin; and his son, David Borowski. He is survived by his brothers, Ed, and Frank (Emily) and his sisters, Vicki (Cliff) McPherson, and Josephine (George) Bourdeau dHui; along with many other family members and dear friends. He was preceded by his father Sylvester; mother Maria and daughter Sharon. Stan was born in Fort Whyte, MB on June 13, 1933, grew up in the St. Daniel and Roseisle area, and later lived in Beausejour, Minto, Boissevain, Thompson, and Selkirk. He was employed by Manitoba Hydro for 41 years before his retirement in 1993. Stan was an avid fisherman and hunter, and cherished the times he spent at cabins with his friends and family. He was a loving and down-to-earth man, who, in his gentle ways, cared deeply for his family and those around him. He loved to work on his house and garden, and throughout his life he volunteered his time to many charity organizations. Stan will be remembered for his compassion and great sense of humour. Funeral service will be held from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Carman, MB, on Friday, August 29 at 2:00 p.m., with Fr. Edward Kosa O.M.I. officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in St. Claude, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation, 70 Stevenson Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3H 0W7; The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6; or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
