GUILHERMINA BORGES (nee VIEIRA) October 23, 1907 - September 19, 2003 With gratitude for a long and prayerful life, her family announces Guilherminas passing Friday morning at Seven Oaks General Hospital. We will all miss her smile, chocolates and cookies. We will also miss her ever-present rosary with which she continuously prayed for us. Guilhermina joins husband Manuel; sisters, Emilia, Maria, Rosa; and brothers, Antonio and Jose in eternal rest. Her sister-in-law Maria Virginia (Edmonton) survives to cherish her memory. Guilhermina was born in the village of Santa Barbara, in the island of Terceira, Acores, Portugal. In 1951, she married Manuel, a widower, and raised his three young children Domingos, Manuel and Jose with love and devotion to the present day. We are forever grateful for the care and love she gave our fathers. Happily, she and Manuel were able to join the children, and their daughters-in-law, Maria, Anna and Teresa in Winnipeg in 1971, where they spent the rest of their lives watching their family grow to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved them dearly. Roger and Betty, Paulo and Maria (betrothed), Robert, Danny and Dawn, Sandra and Cary (Molyneux), Gina, Sharon, Kevin, Amy and Felicia continue to cherish the memory of their Avo. Samantha and Bradley will also remember great-grandma with fondness. Guilhermina never ceased to pray for the soul of her late husband. Let us now return the favour and remember her in prayer, especially with the Hail Mary and Our Father, to which she was so devoted. Please join us at prayers on Sunday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe Avenue and Brazier Street. We also invite you to join us as we celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m., also at the Church with Brother Jorge Villegas, O.F.M. Cap presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Pallbearers are grandsons, Roger, Paulo, Robert, Danny, Kevin and Marco. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
