CHRISTINE AKRE "CHRIS" (nee FENSTAD) Peacefully, on Saturday, September 27, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Chris Akre beloved wife of the late Gerry Akre passed away at the age of 70 years. Chris will be lovingly remembered by her son Alan; daughter Judy (Shannon) Pelham, and her grandson Lars; her brother Ken (Jenny) Fenstad and many dear friends. Chris was a long time employee for the T. Eaton Co. She loved to travel including spending time at the cabin. In accordance with Chris wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, at 2:00 p.m., Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family interment will take place at a later date in the family plot at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Chris may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Special thanks are extended to the Doctors and nursing staff of St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the numerous friends that gave Chris and her family the support when needed.
