ESTHER RUBINSTEIN On November 14, 2003 Esther Rubinstein (nee Goldin) passed away at age 95. Esther was born in Winnipeg in 1908. She was predeceased by her husband Moe in 1966; father Samuel; mother Hinda; sisters, Bertha Golden, Florence Zinman and brother Mickey. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter and son-in-law, Verne and Morley Rosenfield of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Michael and Sigrid, Lyle and Debbie, and Marissa as well as four great-grandchildren all of California; her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Don Golden; sister Ruth Goldin of Winnipeg. In her active years Esther was a member of the Lillian Freeman Chapter of Hadassah and the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue Sisterhood. A special note of gratitude goes to the caring staff of the first and second floors of the Simkin Centre for providing an atmosphere of compassion and dignity throughout her residency at the centre. Many thanks to her personal caregivers and friends, Marta Rivera and Diane Wiebe for their loyalty and devotion. Funeral service was held at the Simkin Centre followed by interment at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Cemetery on Sunday, November 16. Contributions in Esthers memory to charity of choice.
