Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSA MELIZZA (nee CIANFRONE) (MONTEBRUNO) It is with deep sadness that the family of Rosa Melizza announces her passing, peacefully with her daughter Teresa at her side on December 7, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio in 1976; an infant son, sister Nicola; and stepchildren, Carmine Melizza of Italy, and Assunta Nasuti of Winnipeg. Nonna leaves to celebrate her life, daughter Teresa; son-in-law Luigi; granddaughters, Rosana (Tim), Lora (Correy) and great-grandchildren, Liam, Camryn, Isabella, Erin; and stepdaughter Sabina. As well, sister Camilla, stepdaughter Amelia of Italy, stepson Domenico of British Columbia along with many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Nonna was born on April 7, 1904 in Mozzagrogna, Italy. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 60 to be near her daughter. She was a strong and spirited woman who worked hard her entire life. She loved being outdoors, and especially loved gardening a pursuit she continued into her 90s. Nonna had a great faith and a great love of life. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. We would like to extend a special, heartfelt thanks to all the family and friends who spent time with Nonna during her stay at St. Josephs the last four years. In particular, Umberto Montebruno who visited Nonna daily, and often twice daily, to help care for her. Thank you to the staff at St. Josephs Nursing Home for their special care of Nonna, especially to Nurse Susan Yablonski who provided great support to Teresa during a stressful time. Prayers took place on Monday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. with Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 9, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Reception to follow. Pallbearers will be Armando Nasuti, Mario Nasuti, Bert Nasuti, Randy Hapin, John Montebruno and Donato Montebruno. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Childrens Hospital Foundation. Riposa in pace Mamma, Nonna, Bisnonna. We love You. P. COUTU & CO. Funeral Directors 156 Marion St., 949-4864
