Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE ALYRE BOULET March 11, 1916 - January 10, 2004 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of George Boulet, at his home in Dunrea. His wife of 56 years, Joan; two daughters, Simonne and Monique; two sons-in-law, Eric Dickie and Ken Green; five grandchildren, Michelle, Rejeanne and Chantelle (Dickie), Jessica and Tyler (Green) two great-grandchildren, Sierra and Nicholas (Dickie) brother Felix; two sisters, Claire and Elizabeth; many extended family members and friends are left to cherish his memory and mourn his passing. George was born in Dunrea where he grew up. In October 1940 he attended the St. Boniface Vocational Training School where he showed great promise as an expert welder. He still had and cherished the note of praise from his instructor. He sought employment in Somerset where he worked for Alex Lafreniere until he joined the Canadian Army on May 15, 1942. He served as driver mechanic in the R.C. Corps Signals until April 1945. On his return he worked again in Somerset and then worked in Dunrea, opening up his own garage in 1946 as mechanic and welder for the community. He closed the doors to the "George Boulet Garage" in 1995. In his retirement George enjoyed woodworking. Many people remember his clocks and other items that he made with his scroll saw. He loved gardening, as evidenced by his huge garden of vegetables, shrubs, trees and flowers. He would often speak with pride about his yard and eagerly take you (in fact, have to take you) for a "walk about" to see his flowers growing. It was common to see him either reading or watching television with a special interest in curling. His greatest joy was when family came home to visit. His sense of humour and caring nature always brought us pleasure. Services were held in Dunrea on January 15. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 42 McTavish Ave. E., Brandon, MB R7A 2B2. Thank you, George, Dad and Pepere for your unconditional love. We miss the twinkle in your eyes. Arrangements with Killarney & Boissevain Funeral Homes. 204-523-7791. \r
