LJUDEVIT BODO Peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2004 Ljudevit Bodo passed away in his sleep at home. He was predeceased by his parents, Jovan and Irma Bodo. He is survived by his beloved wife Vera and son Edward Ivan, his sister Dr. Elizabeth Hollo, and nieces Judith Schmidt and Susan Hiebert. Ljudevit was born on November 12, 1922 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He graduated from university in Belgrade as an architectural engineer and received several competition awards during his professional career. His academic endeavours were interrupted by the Second World War during which time he was called upon for military service. He served his country until the end of the war. In 1958 he married Vera Kasanin in Belgrade and they embarked upon a life journey together which took them to Canada and they settled in Winnipeg. Ljudevit worked as an engineer, first for Peter Leach Co., then with Bert Construction, and then for Manitoba Hydro for 17 years until his retirement. Ljudevit took great interest in world affairs. He enjoyed skiing immensely in his younger years and later switched to fishing and gardening. However, his family was always his greatest passion. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ray Singer for many years of devoted care. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Norbert Parish, 80 rue St. Pierre St. with interment to follow in the St. Norbert Cemetery.
