Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERNETTE BOURGEOIS (nee AQUIN) It is with great sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Vernette at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, June 24, 2004, at the age of 69 years. Vernette will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 49 years, Albert; her children, Gisele (Randy) Law, Lynette (Roland) Chartier, Raymond, Rene (Lisa Seppela) and Doris (Vern) Nelson and her six grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sisters, Delima, Marie-Rose, Florence and Louise; her brothers, Arthur, Robert, Georges and Jules and numerous other relatives and friends. Vernette was predeceased by her parents, Zephirin and Angeline Aquin; her sister Arcelie and her granddaughter Chantalle. Vernette grew up in Elie, MB and talked of a happy childhood surrounded by her large family and many friends. She married Albert at the age of 20 and devoted her life to her husband, her children, and her church. Her Catholic faith was a source of great comfort to her; she was particularly devoted to the Virgin Mary. Vernette loved to receive visitors, to entertain, and to play cards; at the end of the evening she could frequently be heard to ask if we could take time for "just one more game." Prayers will be said Sunday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons. A memorial mass will be held at St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 avenue de la Cathedrale, on Monday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Ron Leger, C.S.V. presiding. A private interment has taken place. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
