FABIEN GERMAIN PRETEAU After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that the family of Fabien Preteau, beloved husband of Bernice (nee Myslicki) announces his sudden passing on July 24, at the DeSalaberry District Health Centre, at the age of 69. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean-Baptiste Preteau and Valerie Gauthier, his sister Lorette Courcelles and his brother Aubert Preteau. Fabien is lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Bernice; and his six children, Gerald (Cathie) Preteau, Marcel Preteau, Eugene (DeeDee) Preteau, Diane Preteau, Nicole (Marc) Chartier, and Carol Preteau. He will also be missed by his 14 grandchildren, Nancy, Adam, Ciara, Jason, Ben, Curtis, Richard, Amanda, Jean Patrick, Alan, Cory, Ardan, Paul, and Leanne. Also mourning his loss are his sisters, Annette Forest, Yvette (Al) Boaler, Lauriana (Oscar) Audet, Marie St-Jean, Suzanne Proulx, Anita Carriere, and numerous nieces and nephews. During his years, Fabien was an outdoor enthusiast. Fishing, trapping and hunting were his passions. He took great delight in sharing these skills with his family and friends. Dad spent many years working at Poulin Exterminators, Heberts Electric and finally retired after working at the St. Malo Provincial Park. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff and physicians at Cancer Care Manitoba, Cancer Care in Steinbach, and Dr. R. Strank and the staff at the DeSalaberry District Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Prayers will be held Friday, July 30, 2004 at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral services to follow at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Malo Roman Catholic Church in St. Malo, MB. Fr. Joseph Choiselat will celebrate the mass. Interment will take place in the St. Malo Parish Cemetery following the mass. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220
