JEAN BOYACHEK Peacefully, on Thursday, September 16, 2004, at the Lions Prairie Manor, Jean Boyachek, of Portage la Prairie, MB widow of the late Peter Boyachek passed away at the age of 94 years. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 21 in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ross Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Jean was born on February 6, 1910, daughter of Klemintine and Alex Koverzin at Pine River, where she was raised and received her education. In 1932 she married her husband Peter and they farmed in the Ridge Road district until his passing 1988. In 1990 she moved to Portage to reside at the Oak Tree Towers and later to the Lions Prairie Manor. Jeans many interests included sewing, knitting, crocheting, flowers and gardening. She enjoyed cooking meals for special occasions. Her special times were spent with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a generous heart and soul, with a special gift of being a good listener to family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Peter of 56 years, infant son David, sister Teenie Tycholaz, brother Dan Koverzin and great-grandson Sean Adamski. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her five sons, Ron (Lil) of Sylvan Lake, AB, Max (Pat) of London, ON, Ted (Lydia) of Sioux Narrows, ON, Ed (Isabel) and Alfred (Linda) of Portage la Prairie, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are one sister Frances Perche of Dauphin, MB; sisters-in-law, Mary-Jane Boyachek, Donna Boyachek and Edith Koverzin.
