RICHARD ARNOLD STRICKLAND It is with deep sadness and regret that the family of Richard Arnold Strickland announces his sudden passing at his home in Leduc, AB on September 24, 2004. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Sharon Strickland; seven children, Shannon Strickland (Mark), Shelly Glover (Bruce), Tracy Podworny (Rick), James Strickland (Christine), Geoffrey Strickland (Sylvie), Matthew Strickland and Lindsay Strickland; his brother Robert Strickland (Diane) and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother Eileen Farwell of Assiniboia; his father Philip Strickland of Moosejaw; and brother William of Winnipeg. Rick was born in Vancouver, BC, August 18, 1945 and spent most of his life owning and managing restaurants between Winnipeg, MB, Kenora, ON, and Edmonton, AB. In 1996 he moved to Leduc and began working for Schwanns realizing he excelled as a salesman. He thoroughly enjoyed his regular clients and won Top Salesman of the year in 1997. He loved hockey and was a die-hard Elvis fan! He lived life to the fullest and will be sadly missed. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Hainstock Funeral Chapel, 34th Ave./98th St., Edmonton, AB. Cremation to follow service, ashes to be interred by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Ricks memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
