Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUSSELL JAROSLAW BODNAR Peacefully, on Friday, October 22, 2004, at Health Sciences Centre, Russell Jaroslaw Bodnar, aged 82, beloved husband of Maria. Russell was born March 14, 1922, in selo Chovechi, rayon Holochivskoho, Lvivski oblast, Ukraine. In 1938, together with his parents and two sisters, Olya and Halyna, he immigrated to Canada, settling and farming firstly in Saskatchewan and then a short time later, moving to Benito, MB. When visiting Ukraine, he met his wife Maria and for seven and one-half years, tried to sponsor her to Canada where they married in 1983. In 1994, due to Russells poor health, they moved to Winnipeg. Russell was a very spiritual man who attended church and sang in the Benito Church Choir. He loved to read newspapers and books, especially about the history of Ukraine. He was a very generous donor to the church and to Pomich Ukraini. He had a love of Ukrainian songs and music. Russell leaves to cherish his memory his wife Maria; son and grandchildren; sister Halyna; and brother-in-law John Hrytsenko. Panachyda will be said 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28 at Ukrainian Orthodox Sobor of St. Ivan Suchavsky, 939 Main St., with Rev. C. Zubritsky officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
