JUDY DAVIS (nee Masik) Judith A. (Judy) Davis, a 30 year resident of Colorado Springs, lost her long battle with cancer on October 20. She is survived by her daughter Christine (Steve), Chuck, her beloved companion of 20 years, her sister Gerrie (Terry), all of her grandchildren and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her son Kevin, her parents Anne (Balagus) and Stanley Masik, and her uncle Reverend Father Martin Balagus (on October 24, 2004). Born April 19, 1940 in Winnipeg, Judy attended St. Nicholas School and Church. She worked at Tanjay Fashions for several years where she made lifelong friends. Her family in Winnipeg was never far from her heart. In Colorado, she volunteered at the Peterson AFB Thrift Shop, and served on many committees at St. Patricks Catholic Church. She was creative, generous, flamboyant, nurturing, and fun, a vibrant woman with an eclectic sense of style. She had a wide variety of interests and activities. Judy climbed Pikes Peak 14 times, attended dozens of film festivals, stalked thousands of garage sales, and was intimately familiar with every thrift and department store within a hundred miles. Judy travelled extensively and touched many lives wherever she lived. She loved to entertain and had an incredible gift to reach out and connect with others. The Balagus family will have a memorial Divine Liturgy at 11:00 a.m on November 27, 2004 in St. Nicholas Church, 737 Bannerman Ave., in Winnipeg.
