WILLIAM DOUGLAS MCDONALD After a brief illness, peacefully at home Bill McDonald, a much loved, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away on February 23, 2005 at the age of 59 years. Bill was predeceased by his father Roy in 1986 and his mother Evelyn in 2002. His memory will be forever cherished by his daughters, Carrie (Lucas) Glowacki and Jennifer (David) Hailley. Grandchildren, Jacob, Katarina, Thomas and Michael Glowacki, will always, have a special place in their hearts for their Grandpa . Bill will be sadly missed by his brother Neil (Lorraine) McDonald; and sisters, Susan (Wayne) Pochynuk and Linda (Barry) Hastie; as well as three nieces; five nephews; one great-nephew; and his aunt Jo-Anne. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg, growing up in Fort Garry attending the local schools including Vincent Massey Collegiate. After school Dad tried his hand at several jobs, until 1971 when he found what he was meant to do, becoming a driver for Grey Goose bus lines. Dad's 30 year career with Grey Goose gave him the opportunity to travel across North America. Dad thought of all of his wonderful coworkers at Grey Goose as family and made several lifelong friends during his years of driving. Dad had a great love for sports, in the past he enjoyed participating in hockey, golf, fishing, hunting, swimming and curling. He also enjoyed many years raising and training Labrador retrievers and working with the Manitoba Gun Dog association. Although Dad's health had prevented him from participating in sports in recent years, he enjoyed being an avid spectator. Dad had many, many wonderful friends and we wish to thank you all for your care and concern for Dad over the past few months, he was truly blessed to have friends who cared so much. Dad loved to spend time with his family, we will hold all of our wonderful memories of the precious times we spent together, in our hearts always. Memorial services will be held on Monday February 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. If friends so desire, donations, can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Dad, if we only knew that morning, that it was our last goodbye, we would have held you tightly, you would have told us not to cry, you knew how much we loved you and we know we were your world, we will miss you forever and we will always be your girls.
