BEVERLEY ANNE MAZUR
Born: Sep 02, 1939
Date of Passing: Mar 04, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEVERLEY ANNE MAZUR (nee McLEOD) Peacefully in her sleep, on Friday, March 4, 2005, Beverley passed away at the Grace General Hospital. Bev was predeceased by her parents, Dr. C.D. and Kathleen I. (Milligan) McLeod and is survived by her loving husband Kenneth E. Mazur. Although Bev had no immediate family survivors she had the love and adulation of many nieces, nephews and cousins . On the infamous day of September 2, 1939, a diagnosis confirmed that Bev was a Type I diabetic. Thus began a long road of survival with help, love, determination and knowledge of her parents who instilled in her that she was not a diabetic but a person who had diabetes. This thought was with her at all times and gave her the strength to survive and enjoy a happy, fruitful life. Bev was born on March 22, 1936 in Winnipeg. She graduated from Balmoral Hall in 1954 and from Victoria General Hospital, as a Registered Nurse in 1958. She nursed briefly at Children's Hospital and then for many years at the Winnipeg Clinic. She was also a member of the Junior League of Winnipeg and did volunteer work in Winnipeg and Edmonton. Bev was very proud and honoured to be a 5th generation descendant of the Selkirk Settlers, and a member of the Clan McLeod Society. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. Heartfelt thanks to all staff at Deer Lodge Centre and Grace Hospital for the special care, love and devotion they provided to Bev, who fully appreciated your efforts. Also for their love and support Bev wished to thank Noel and Don, Gerrie and family, and Little Bev from Newfie who proclaimed us as her adoptive parents. Bev has requested that no flowers be sent but if desired, donations may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1101 - 191 Lombard Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0T4, C.N.I.B., 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3 or a charity of choice. Bev, thank you for the boundless love and devotion you gave me over the years. Now you are at peace, rest well; you deserve it. Love always, Ken. I'd like the memory of me, To be a happy one. Of smiles when the day is done I'd love to leave an echo Whispering softly down the ways Of happy times and laughing times And bright and sunny days I'd like the tears of those who grieve To dry before the sun Of happy memories I leave behind When the day is done... Until we meet again. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
