Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL (BENNY) MAUDE BOSKO Peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2005 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Hazel Bosko, aged 81 years, of East Selkirk, passed away as the result of a sudden stroke. Mom was born in Avondale, NS on November 26, 1923, the youngest of 11 children of the late John and Henrietta Benedict. Mom is survived by one son Dave; two sisters, Georgina and Helen from Nova Scotia; a few nieces and nephews and their families all from Nova Scotia; sisters-in-law, Ruby (Steve) Bosko of Winnipeg and Steph Kasper of British Columbia; nieces, Carol (Cliff) Dubecki of Winnipeg, Kim (John) Hok of British Columbia, Donna Inkster of Winnipeg, Ollie (Lorne) Wilk of British Columbia, Francis (Max) Premseler of Arizona, Stephany Casbolt and Evie (John) Hlady of British Columbia and Kathy Day of Selkirk, and their families; nephews, Ron (Diane) Kasper on Winnipeg, Dennis (Barb) Kasper of British Columbia and Glenn Bosko of Winnipeg and their families. Mom was predeceased by husband/dad, John in 2003 and son/brother, Brian in 1996. Mom served in the Second World War with the Medical Corps where she met dad and, shortly after both were discharged from the army, moved to East Selkirk, got married and raised two sons (Brian and Dave). Over the years mom developed a skill for cooking Ukrainian foods and other culinary goodies. She liked tending the flowers she planted every year. She never missed an opportunity to go shopping. She loved having neighbours and friends over for coffee and a gabfest. Mom was also good at crossword puzzles and the jumble contest in the Free Press. At her request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. A private family interment will follow at a later date. I wish to thank mom's neighbours for their help and concern and the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion while she was there. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
