CATHERINE MARY (BONNIE) VIRTUE RENNER May 10, 1925 - March 30, 2005 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and Nana on the evening of Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Bonnie (her grandfather Card thought she was a bonny baby) was born in Neepawa, MB, the eldest child of Clare and Vera Virtue. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Joan Nishimura and in 1983, by her husband William A. (Bill) Renner. She is survived by her children, Carol and Brent; her precious granddaughters, Jordelle Catherine and Alexis Siobhan and her special grandchildren, Kimberly and Darius, as well as Pepper the granddog . She is also survived by her only brother C.B. (Barry) Virtue and his wife Bunny, as well as nieces, nephews and many cousins. Following her graduation from Neepawa Collegiate and during the Second World War, Bonnie worked in the office at the Commonwealth Airforce Training Base in Neepawa, MB where she met her future husband Bill. Bill and Bonnie were married in Kenora on May 10, 1947. Together they created and operated Hide-A-Way Resort and Dogtooth Air Service during their spare time. Bonnie was an accomplished vocalist and soloist. She loved to sing, was an excellent dancer, a gracious hostess and a good friend with a unique sense of humour. She was a 50 year plus member of Wenonah Chapter No. 18, Order of the Eastern Star and held many offices over the years. Bonnie also worked part-time for several decades at Johnson's Pharmacy on Main Street, a role that gave her much pleasure. Her most valued roles were those of mother, Nana and sister. Her family was her life. A memorial service celebrating the life of Catherine (Bonnie) Renner was held on Tuesday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Knox United Church, Kenora. Cremation has taken place. A private interment will take place at a later date. If friends so wish, donations may be made in Bonnie's memory to a charity of ones' choice.
