Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. BERNARD R. BOYCOTT September 30, 1924 - April 13, 2005 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a true gentleman, Bernard. Brother, uncle, father, grandfather and dear friend to many. Bernard leaves to mourn his passing his sister Sheila Watts, nephews Roger (Susan) Watts and Steven (Val) Boycott; niece Christine (Allan) Rosenkrantz; as well as several great-nieces and nephews, five stepdaughters and their husbands and 11 grandchildren. Bernard was predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Judy; his brothers, Roy and Norrie. Bernard was born in Leintwardine, England, the son of Benjamin and Ivy Boycott. He enlisted in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, where he served honorably. Following the war he obtained his degree in Veterinary Medicine and moved to Winnipeg in 1957. For 26 years worked at the Department of Agriculture, Veterinary Service Branch and received his Master of Science in 1965. He proceeded in specializing in Veterinary Pathology in 1985 until retiring in 1986 from the Provincial Vet Lab. Bernard was an intelligent and interesting man who would gently help another in need. A deeply moral person with a keen sense of humour, he valued family and good friends. He was a man who enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge on many subjects and those who spent time with him would surely leave a bit more enlightened. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Ray and Estelle St. Hilaire, close and caring friends of Bernard, who have also been a great source of support to them. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bernard's memory to the Salvation Army Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R2. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Monday, April 18 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
