LEOKADIA MATILDA "VIOLET" BODNARUS Mrs. Leokadia Matilda Violet Bodnarus of Red Deer, AB passed away suddenly at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, April 15, 2005 at the age of 72 years. Violet, as she was called, was born to Tekla and Walter Borowski of Winnipeg on July 16, 1932. During the course of her life, Violet lived in three provinces, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Red Deer was her home for the last 16 years. She took great pride in her family, her home and her faith. Violet was a devoted member of St. Vladimir Parish and the U.C.W.L. She also attended both S.A.I.T. and the University of Calgary as a mature student. Violet will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Adam, of 50 years, and their children, Claudia McDonald, Karen Fehr, Peter Bodnarus and Paula Rynsburger, along with their spouses and children. She will also be sadly missed by her only sibling, Mrs. Helen Manilla-Babiniec of Winnipeg, as well as numerous other extended family members and many dear friends. Prayers will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th St., Red Deer on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Vladimir Ukranian Catholic Church, 3932 - 46th St., Red Deer on Wednesday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Mark Bayrock and The Rev. Fr. Julian Bilyj celebrants. If desired, memorial donations in Violet's honour may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 101, 5208 - 53rd Ave., Red Deer, AB, T4N 5K2.
