FLORENCE BODMAN (ROWNTREE) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florence Bodman on April 19, 2005. Florence was born on February 13, 1923 and 18 years later on that very same day she married her true love and soul-mate Edward. In 64 wonderful years of marriage together they created three children: Their daughter June (Alvin) and their family Debbie (Curtis) Jennifer and Sarah; David (Allison) and Jett; Christine (Darryl) Tyler and Alexis; John. Their daughter Trudy (Frank) and their family Tim (Karen) Alyssa and Kaitlyn; Sheri (Erich) Erin and Emma. Their son Don (Terry) Ryan and Tyler. At 82, Florence lived an amazing life. She was truly a Lady of tradition. She met the Woolworth's ladies for lunch monthly and spent hours gathering with the members of the No. 1 M.A.C. She loved her days bowling with her league, and her evenings at Melrose bingo hall, and always looked forward to trips to Club Regent with Richard and Louise. Her most important tradition though was spending time with her family. Florence spent her summers making sure everyone was well-fed at the beach and around the campfire at West Hawk Lake, and winters were spent making Sunday dinners for her entire family to enjoy. Nothing pleased her more than gathering up the family for Grey Cup parties and New Years Day. Florence had a heart of gold and the strength to keep her family together, but as strong as she was, nothing weakened her more than the loss of her daughter Trudy 17 years ago. Although we will miss her so very much, we are grateful that she is finally reunited with her Angel Trudy and her parents, Sydney and Gertrude Rowntree, and her sisters, Hilda and Faye. We are comforted knowing that you've earned your wings and will watch over your husband Eddy, your Sister Doreen, your Brother Art and your entire family and friends. A memorial service will be held on April 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grey Street United Church (651 Grey St.) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
