Dad started working at age 14 in a steel mill to support his family. He carried scars across his chest from splashing hot materials from that time. He always worked at very hard jobs in the construction industry, and was a foreman, usually. He wanted to be a fighter pilot when he joined the RCAF in 1943, but found out that he was colour blind, so he was a mechanic. I never saw him drunk, and he never hit my mother. He always was the one whose opinion of me I most valued. I remember him often and pray for him. His views on many things were accurate. He never had a chance to go to high school, but he read a lot, such magazines as Scientific American, Popular Mechanics, and Popular Science, as well as books about his favourite hobbies. He kept up with current events via newspapers and magazines. R.I.P Dad! Be in Heaven with Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! - Posted by: Glenn Fingler (Son) on: Apr 01, 2026
