HAZEL EDITH WINNIFRED PATTERSON December 25, 1913 - April 29, 2005 It is with ultimate sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Hazel E. Patterson (also known as Pat to her friends) of 13 Hull Ave., St. Vital. Mom, who was 91 years of age, passed away on Friday evening, April 29th. Her passing was pain-free and followed many months of ill health. Mom was predeceased by her father and mother, Harvey and Amy Cann of Winnipeg; husband James in 1958; sisters (and brothers-in-law), Miriam and Bill Mayfield, Ev and Allan Meikle and adored brother Harvey Cann Jr. and brother-in-law, Stan Morton, both of California. Beloved daughter, Eleanor June ; son Ernie and daughter-in-law, Karla Patterson of Winnipeg, survive Mom. Mom also has two surviving wonderful sisters, Bess Morton and Bea Placktis and brother-in-law Al Placktis, all of California. Other surviving members of Mom's family include nieces and nephews, Arlene Weed and Bob Morton of California, Miriam and Jack Trueman and family, Barry Meikle and family, Audrey Koch (and daughter, Jody, her constant pen pal) all of Winnipeg and countless friends, too many to list. They were all attentive and caring and all very special people to Mom. Mom was born in North Winnipeg and lived and worked her entire life to the fullest extent. Her many years working at the CNR were fulfilling and her retirement time came far too early. She had endless energy and was generous and friendly to all who knew her, especially children whom she loved. She loved her home and yard where she spent many happy hours. She had a strength and a determination, enjoyed by only a few lucky people. The family would like to express their total appreciation of all the many kindnesses and caring expressed by all the caregivers at Vista Park Lodge. They treated her as the very special person she has always been to all. Cremation has already taken place at Voyage Funeral Home, as Mom requested, with no service. We now are left to celebrate Pat's life and many achievements throughout and her sincere treatment of all who came her way. A life filled with work has certainly earned Mom an eternity of peace and rest. God bless her! We will miss her! Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 1531 Pembina Hwy. 284-7500
