Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHUGH JAMES CLEMENTS July 16, 1918 - May 5, 2005 Hugh passed away quietly on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Hugh is survived by his companion of many years, Eva Mooney; his children, Robert (Diana), JoAnne and Jim (Pat) and their mother Isabel; his grandchildren, Christie (Scott), Sherrie (Dion) and Deborah; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Hugh was born and raised in Winnipeg. In September 1940, he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces and served overseas during the Second World War and was a survivor of Dieppe. Upon his discharge in 1945 he returned to Winnipeg to begin his working career. Most of his career was spent at Kiewels Brewery in St. Boniface. He retired in 1978 and enjoyed his summers at his cabin at Winnipeg Beach. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 10 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make a donation to a charity of choice in remembrance of Hugh. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Bill Martin, Hugh's roommate and friend at Central Park Lodge. Also to the Palliative Care staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and kindness.
