ELEANOR HOLLANDS It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of our mother and grandmother Eleanor June Hollands on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the age of 70. She is survived by her husband Brian of 52 years; son Richard (Michelle), granddaughters, Danielle and Emily, stepgrandchildren, Chad and Kaela; daughter Heather (Philip) and their children, Kylie, Shailyn and Hannah. Eleanor was one of five children born to Whitney and Emma McConnell near Hartley, MB on August 25, 1934. Eleanor and Brian married in 1952 and lived in Winnipeg for a short period of time and then moved to the Petersfield district, where they took up farming. Eleanor's greatest passion was her grandchildren, and she loved to prepare the children her famous strawberries and pancakes. Mom enriched the lives of her family through her love, dedication, support and courage, allowing others to follow their dreams. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 3 at 3:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. If friends so desire, donations in Eleanor's memory to CancerCare would be very much appreciated. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
