VICTOR ANDREW JOHNSON 1940 - 2005 Peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital, Victor passed away after a long battle with cancer. Victor is survived by his wife of 37 years Edna; son Bryan (Marni) and their two daughters, Alycia and Rachel; daughter Jennifer; mother Nettie; sister Lauranne (Bob) Ferber and their children. He was predeceased by his father Victor in 1977. Born in Winnipeg on September 20, 1940, Victor was the first-born son of Victor and Nettie Johnson. He grew up in Winnipeg's West End, where he excelled at baseball and hockey. He attended school at General Wolfe and Daniel McIntyre. Victor graduated from the University of Manitoba with Bachelor degrees in Science and Education, achieving his Masters of Education in 1975. He spent more than 30 years teaching Junior High School at J.B. Mitchell and General Wolfe before reluctantly retiring due to his illness. A special thanks to all the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit and the Home Care staff for their caring and understanding. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18 at Waverley Fellowship Baptist Church, 2171 Waverley St. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache Ave., R2H 9Z9, or a charity of choice.
