PETER MICHALYNA Peacefully on June 8, 2005, Peter Michalyna passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 79. Peter was the beloved husband of Emily for 45 years, and the father of two daughters, Marlene and Sylvia. He is survived by his brother Walter, and sister Anne, and predeceased by his parents. Dad was born in Transcona, Manitoba on May 8, 1926. He was a private individual, and will be remembered for his devotion to his family. Dad was employed at the Transcona CN Shops since his teenage years as a Carman's Helper and Carman (Brotherhood of Railway Carmen #550). He retired in 1982 after over 39 years of service. A private family graveside service was held at the Transcona Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on June 14, 2005, which was officiated by Rev. Fr. Michael Krochak. The family would like to thank honorary pallbearers: Walter Michalyna, Ed Klatt, Michael Klymochko, Henry McDonald and Ivan Bilash. A special thank you to Uncle Walter for his support during this time. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
