KEN J. SCHWARTZ Ken was taken from us far too soon on June 17, 2005 at the age of 54 years. Ken leaves behind his beloved wife of 21 years, Peggy, and his dear children, Rob and Jennifer. He was predeceased by his dad, Julius in 1991 and his father-in-law, Andy in 2002. He is survived by his mother, Stephanie Schwartz, sister Juliette Wood and husband Wayne in Toronto (Julie and Adam), his brother Rick and wife Debbie in Winnipeg (Matthew, Megan, Steven and Emily), mother-in-law Mary Andrews, brother-in-law Bob Andrews and wife Ann in Surrey, U.K. (Chloe, Chris and Kathryn), as well as various aunts and cousins. Ken was born on September 8, 1950, at the newly opened Women's Pavilion in Winnipeg. He was raised in East Kildonan, and resided in St. Vital since 1985. Ken attended Munroe Junior High, Miles Mac, and the School of Social Work at the University of Manitoba. He later earned his Certified Financial Planner designation. Ken was employed with Partners in Planning, following a colourful work life that included working night duty for the Children's Aid Society, retail, and then as a financial planner since 1983. Ken liked to describe himself as a homebody at home with his family was where he wanted to be. Ken was always there when we needed him as he worked form his home office. Ken will always be remembered as a helper. He was our skilled family nurse, and always ready to help those in need, be it family, friends or neighbours. Ken enjoyed our close circle of friends, his clients, many of whom he served for many years, his neighbourhood and, above all, was totally dedicated to his children, of whom he was extremely proud. He loved to read science fiction, and role playing computer games, in his spare time. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 22 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Avenue, with Reverend Diane Guilford officiating. The service will terminate at the church. A private family interment will follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3, or to a charity of your choice, in Ken's honour. Ken, we miss you terribly, and will always love you. Love Peg, Rob and Jen. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
