VILJEM DOVIDIJA After a long and satisfying life, God has called upon Viljem Dovidija who passed away peacefully on July 30, 2005 at the age of 81. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife Anna of 45 years of marriage and only daughter Elizabeth Budney with her husband Larry. Also his greatest joys, he leaves behind his two grandsons, Devin and Eric, who had enriched his life so much more. He will be sadly missed by friends and other family members. Viljem was born in Stanjevci, Yugoslavia on November 26, 1923. He was the youngest of seven siblings. He came to Canada in 1957 and married on September 5, 1959. Viljem was a hard worker and had many jobs until he finally retired from the City of Winnipeg, Parks and Recreation Department, after 22 years of service. The birth of his first grandson brought him such joy that a smile from ear to ear would show up every time he saw him. Known as Kapa, he spoiled Devin with love. When his second grandson Eric arrived, his love grew even more. To all who knew him we have lost a husband, father (Tati), grandpa (Kapa) and friend, you will be greatly missed and remembered in our thoughts and hearts. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at 1:00 p.m. also at the chapel with Pastor Heimo Bachmeyer officiating.
