DON PALMER After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Don Palmer, age 67 passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2005 at Riverview Health Centre, with his family by his side. Don was predeceased by his parents Frank and Elsie and he will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary; son Don; sisters Arlene (Brian) Billeck and Margaret Abraham and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He retired from the Canadian Military after 33 years of service and went on to work as a Commissionaire, retiring in 2003. In his retirement he loved bowling and enjoyed the companionship of his many friends. The family would like to thank the many caregivers from Grace Hospital, CancerCare and Riverview Health Centre for the care and compassion extended to Don during his illness. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. Should friends so desire, in memory of Don, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON-1160-675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, R3E 0V9.
